February 2023: Port Williams Embers

We had a fantastic time with the Port Williams Embers!! 🧡 Marsha & I both grew up in guides & scouting, so it was an absolute joy to spend the evening sharing the longbabies with the new generation!

Many were snake-fans already, but a few were particularly nervous… but that’s why I work exclusively with snakes! 🐍😁 By learning to appreciate one of nature’s least popular critters, I hope to fuel a passion for the entire natural world, but my other goal is to help children make the conscious decision to overcome their own anxieties. I firmly believe that teaching a child to push themselves to overcome their fears is a lesson that can last a lifetime! ❤ One young lady was on the verge of tears when we started, but she gradually pushed herself to ask for a touch… then to hold one… and before I knew it, she was wearing Sandy, the very bold & curious Florida kingsnake, around her neck! 😂

Thank you SO MUCH to the leaders for inviting us! These opportunities mean the world to me, and I hope we were able to make some amazing memories! 🥰
