We had the best time in Mahone Bay this weekend! Saxon’s birthday party was absolutely snaketacular, with slithery decorations everywhere, including snakelets & cupsnakes for everyone!
They were very excited to meet REAL snakes but they were just as eager to learn about them first and I love seeing their faces light up with the joy of discovery. While everyone enjoyed the gentle embrace of the ball pythons, Robert & Coral were flagrantly disrespecting personal boundaries… as usual. I always warn them about the corn snakes but there’s always lots of eager volunteers. The birthday boy fell in love with Robert’s shenanigans, while Alice the boa made friends with another young lad who was quite terrified of her. “Those eyes! That tongue!” He was slightly freaked out by her vertical pupils and black tongue, but after getting to know & understand her a little better, he decided Alice was his favourite.
Mom even sent us home with a container of cookies & brownies! Although, the cookies quickly disappeared and Marsha has hidden the brownies from me. We’re so grateful for every invitation, but it’s the way you make us feel so welcome that makes every visit so special! THANK YOU!! ❤
