December 2023: Horton High School Library

What an amazing turnout for our visit to Horton High School’s library! We met snake-lovers & newbies, alike, and saw so much amazing courage! Pushing through anxiety, especially during those initial sensations, is no easy task and I was amazed at how much bravery I saw at Horton!

As usual, the corn snakes were up to shenanigans and the ball pythons were especially calm and snuggly which was perfect for many first-timers. I’m especially proud of Thomas (Pueblan milk snake) and Sarah (juvenile corn snake)! Both are still young and can get the zoomies in their enclosures, but they were absolutely phenomenal at Horton!

And speaking of Thomas & Sarah…. HUGE thanks to my dear volunteer, Sarah, and her older brother, Thomas, for all their assistance! Sarah spent every free moment helping juggle snakes and making people feel comfortable with their derpy behaviours. It was a wonderful opportunity for her peers to see her in her element, so if you ever have any snake & reptile questions at Horton, check with Sarah!

Thanks so much to Horton for hosting this wonderful opportunity and to librarian, Lori Noseworthy, for inviting us! Most importantly THANK YOU to every single one of you who was so kind and gentle with my pets. Your courage is an inspiration and seeing your affection for my babies was the best Christmas present ever! ❤
