This weekend was rather bittersweet. A winter storm forced a postponement of Saturday’s birthday party, which absolutely gutted me. There’s few things I hate more than disappointing children, especially on their special day! On the bright side, the rescheduling means Dinah-Mite Pythons will available to join us for the rematch, so we’ll have even MORE stunning snakes to share with the birthday boy!
However, I’m VERY thankful that the weather was MUCH more cooperative on Sunday, because we enjoyed a very special outing. I met my good buddy, Bear, at my very first homeschool event. His name is certainly memorable, but his sheer, unbridled excitement is absolutely unforgettable! According to Mum & Dad, he’s been obsessed with snakes every since that visit, so it was a joy to be able to give him a special surprise on his birthday. He was shaking with excitement and could hardly decide which snake to play with next! Thankfully my faithful assistant, Kate-Lynn, was there to help him juggle the many options.
Now… I don’t know if you can actually die of “adorable-overdose” but I came pretty close when Bear asked me to whisper snake-facts in his ear, so that he could play my role… teaching Dad & I all about ball pythons & Honduran milksnakes. He even showed me where Africa was on his globe! I’m pretty sure my heart is still a melted puddle on their livingroom floor.
Thank you so much for every invitation! I cherish these memories, and look back often at our time spent together. Every single family has made us feel so at-home & welcome, this never feels like a “job” to me, and I’m so grateful!!
