A few “privacy-enabled” photos from our wonderful homeschool outing this afternoon, featuring 19 fantastic kids of all ages, toddler to teens, and five very courageous moms! If I gave awards, this crew would definitely get the “Best Questions” trophy! They were coming fast & furious and every single one was on-point! It was a snake-educator’s heaven.
I was hobbling around in a knee-brace & a cane from a recent injury, but the kids were so patient with me, and I had some amazing help! My beloved wife, Marsha, was joined by our newest volunteer & seasoned snake-handler, Kate-Lynn! You were an absolute LIFESAVER today, Kate-Lynn! Thank you!!
Also, as I was collecting these photos, I realized that there’s something a little magical about enjoying these animals in the comfort of your home. It alters the experience of interacting with a very alien creature when you’re doing it on your favourite sofa in comfortable surroundings. I hadn’t really considered that before, which is ridiculous considering it’s MY favourite way to enjoy my animals.
We had a FANTASTIC afternoon with some wonderful families, and possibly a few future herpetology enthusiasts! Thank you so much for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to share these amazing animals!
