July 2024: Klahanie Campground

Our visits to Klahanie Kamping are always a high point of every summer but it was a little to hot outside for the snakes this time. While snakes require heat to warm up their bodies, they also lack the ability to cool themselves, so overheating is a serious health risk. Thanks to Klahanie’s ample amenities, we were able to have our event in their nice, cool shop. With the help of our wonderful volunteer, Sarah’s help, everything went as smoothly as ever!

It’s so wonderful to see familiar families as well as many new faces too! I saw some INCREDIBLE acts of courage, particularly from one brave soul who was trembling… yet kept pushing herself to go a little further. I love spending time with fellow snake-lovers, but it’s those acts of unbridled courage that inspire me daily. It’s been such a privilege to witness the generational impact of this work. I started this work simply because I wanted fewer dead snakes. It brings me so much peace to know that our Klahanie Kampers family will always be eagre to protect our native snakes when they come wandering through the grounds.

We’ll be returning to Klahanie on August 17th and they always welcome guests to come fall in love with the fun, family atmosphere of this amazing campground.

August 2024: Digby Scallop Days

We had an absolute blast at Digby Scallop Days! The turnout was amazing and everyone was so kind & gentle with my pets, I can hardly wait to visit again! Judging by your feedback, you had just as much fun as we did and I’m so grateful for your warm welcome. There’s really no magic or “snake-whispering” involved in what I do. These shy little animals are just NOTHING like their reputation and, once you see them as they truly are, it’s hard not to fall in love with them.

Thanks to everyone who visited and a HUGE thanks to Digby Scallop Days for inviting us and to all the volunteers & staff who helped make it a resounding success!

July 2024: Plantation Campground

July 2024: Kentville Day Camp

It was an absolute joy to returned to this year’s summer day-camp at Meadowview Hall which is practically in my backyard! With so many familiar faces, it didn’t take long before everyone was getting lots of snake-cuddles.

Many thanks to the Municipality of the County of Kings for inviting me back, and HUGE thanks to my volunteers Sara & Sarah for all their help! It’s always a special privilege visit with folks right here in my home community.

July 2024: Dartmouth Birthday

We had the best time at Rosie’s birthday party in Dartmouth! I think the parents were even more excited than the kids, and it was so wonderful to see Moms & Dad’s leading by example.

I make every effort to ensure that I am the least complicated part of your party plans but, even so, families are never quite sure what to expect… but they’re certainly not expecting to be comfortably cuddling them while you learn about them! Thank you for giving me these incredible opportunities to share these amazing animals with you!

We had a blast at Ryker’s birthday in Boutilier’s Point! The birthday boy did a brilliant job at introducing his friends to these amazing animals! It didn’t take long for everyone to get some snake cuddles, Moms included! We even got to have Sarah join us and look forward to seeing her at many more events this summer!

You’re all so kind & welcoming that it makes every single outing special, and I can’t thank you enough for opening your homes to us!

July 2024: Canada Day in New Minas

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Village of New Minas Canada Day celebrations at Lockhart & Ryan Park!! It was wonderful to see many new & familiar faces, alike! We saw some phenomenal acts of courage and many others fell in love with those patented snake-cuddles.

Thanks to Erica from New Minas Recreation for inviting us and HUGE thanks to my volunteer, Sarah, for lending her time & gifts to us. Thank YOU for being so kind & gentle with my pets. I couldn’t have possibly anticipated the incredible response to my work and it’s made me so proud to be a part of this amazing community.

June 2024: Blomidon Birthday

We had the best time in Blomidon, celebrating Kolby’s birthday! The birthday boy was such a gentleman, welcoming his guests and introducing them all to SNAKES! Many of the adults were just as intrigued the kids and couldn’t resist those patented snake-cuddles. I even got to play with the most gorgeous puppy too! As much as I adore snakes, there’s no love like a pupper’s love.

We’re so grateful for every invitation, but it’s the way you welcome us into your families that makes each outing so special. THANK YOU!!

We had the most amazing time celebrating Faith’s birthday in Bedford! The birthday-girl was all in from the start and couldn’t wait to cuddle every snake should could. It didn’t take long before all her friends were getting tickled and cuddled by their new slithery friends!

June 2023: Blockhouse Birthday

We had an incredible jungle adventure at Daemia’s birthday in Blockhouse! The decorations were unbelievable and the birthday girl did a brilliant job at introducing her friends to her new, slithery friends!

Moms were almost as eager as the kids and soon everyone was getting lots of full-body hugs from my babies. There’s no magic or “snake-whispering” involved in my work. Snakes are simply nothing like we expect them to be! I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity to show you what they’re REALLY like!
