We had a fantastic morning visiting a wonderful homeschool group in Welsford! Most were very new to snakes but it didn’t take long for them to discover how charismatic & cuddly these amazing animals can be!

Parents are often surprised at how calm & comforting snakes can be! We learned a lot about them, of course, but it’s that personal connection that makes the information worth remembering, and many fell in love with their favourites.

Thank you so much for inviting us, and especially for the photos! I was flying solo and completely forgot to take any pictures but Mom graciously shared these photos with me.

October 2023: New Minas Homeschool

There’s so many things that made this particular visit extra-special. We’ve been blessed by this family in so many ways over the years so it was an absolute joy to be able to share our slithery blessings with them!

I also got to spoil them with a special treat courtesy of Scarlett Rose Nightshade and her absolutely amazing educational subscription service My Snake Crate! Every month highlights a different species with activities, crafts, posters and all sorts of goodies that your family can explore together. In this crate, we learned about the gorgeous Green Tree Python! I can hardly wait to see the photos of the completed craft!

May 2022: Sackville Homeschool Presentation (HRM)

We had an amazing adventure in Sackville with a wonderful group of homeschoolers! There’s no question, Dinah-Mite Pythons stole the show! Not only did she supply a truckload of her beautiful animals, but it was the very first outing for her BIG gorgeous adult boa girl, Zypher! For her very first time in front of so many people, Zypher was an absolute sweetheart & so patient with all of us, taking it all in stride She was definitely an exciting challenge for the kids, and I fell in love with her.

While Kate-Lynn & Dinah-Mite Pythons were holding court in the dining room, I was having some crazy adventures in the living room! I always warn the kids, snakes DO NOT respect your personal boundaries, and they gave the kids a thorough demonstration.. First Sandy, the pushy Florida kingsnake, was worming his way though sleeves & knees… then a gentle ball python found a comfortable spot stretched out in a sleeve, keeping an eye on us from a hoodie. The kids were absolutely tickled… literally! Far from being terrified, they loved the experience and kept trying to tempt the snakes to do it again.

It’s been such a joy meeting so many wonderful homeschool families this year!! Thank you so much for the invitation, it really means the world to me when families open their homes to us… it’s an absolute honour & privilege to share these amazing moments with you!

April 2022: Cole Harbour Homeschool Presentation

What a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon! We had an absolute blast with a wonderful homeschool group in Cole Harbour! We learned a lot about snakes, but more importantly, so many learned to love them too!

The full team was on the scene, including Dinah-Mite Pythons & Kate-Lynn, and I couldn’t have done it without them! Everyone had a great time, and I think there may even be pet snakes in the future for some. There was a lot of courageous parents too, and fear quickly turned to fascination and affection for these misunderstood derpy little critters.

There really is something magical about experiencing these animals in a comfortable home environment, especially if you’re feeling anxious. Seeing that anxiety turn to affection is my whole reason for doing this, and this group had me grinning from ear to ear the whole way home. Thank you so much for the invitation!

March 2022: Kingston Homeschool Presentation

We had lots of fun with a great group in Kingston this afternoon! There really is something magical about experiencing an alien creature like a serpent in a comfortable home atmosphere. Even those who were nervous soon warmed to their slithery charms.

Thank you so much for inviting us, and huge thanks to the kids who were so kind & considerate with the animals! Some of the snakes didn’t want to leave. Enjoy a few privacy-enabled pics… I even managed to hunker down again, since my recent injury.

March 2022: Hammonds Plains Homeschool Presentation

We had a fantastic little March Break adventure in Hammonds Plains this afternoon with an amazing group of kids, toddlers to teens! Even the most anxious pushed their boundaries further than they ever thought possible. We saw a TON of courage today!

I was a little shy on snakes but, my hero, Dinah-Mite Pythons came to the rescue with a selection of her longbabies including my absolute favourite… Ophelia the boa. Ophie was the absolute star of the show! Thank you forever, Dinah!

Thank you so much for inviting us, and opening your home to host an experience like this. It truly means everything to me, and I think we made some great memories!

February 2022: Coldbrook Homeschool Presentation

Our first homeschool outing in Coldbrook was a success! I had a whole presentation prepared, but we ended up just hunkering down and organically talking about snakes! We’re so thankful for the opportunity, and everyone was so kind & gentle with the animals… I even won a game of snakes & ladders!

I want to give special appreciation to the real star of this particular outing: ALICE! While young Alice has made guest appearances at past events, this is the first time I’ve ever allowed her to be handled by everyone… and she was AMAZING! Even as a yearling, she demonstrated such patience & grace, I couldn’t be more proud of her! Check her posing with the the snake-whispering Zen master in the photos.

Thank you to Krystal & the gang for an amazing time! Even through I didn’t cover as much material as I’d hoped, I think everyone still learned a tremendous amount about these amazing animals!

April 2021: Wolfville Homeschool Presentation

I was invited to share our “longbabies” with a small group of friends and it was fantastic! One dude really pushed himself to overcome his anxieties about snakes and eventually asked for the full neck-wrap experience! That’s AMAZING! So proud of all these guys! They were very gentle with the animals, attentive to handling-advice, and had some incredible moments connecting with these amazing critters!
